 | Gaisford (Thomas). - Helléniste anglais, né en 1780 mort en 1855, professa la littérature grecque à Oxford, et devint en 1847 curateur de la Bibliothèque bodléienne. Il a donné d'excellentes éditions qui lui ont mérité le titre de correspondant de l'lnstitut : Poetae minores graeci, 1814-1821; Stobée, 1822; Hérodote, 1825; Suidas, 1834; Paroemiographi graeci, 1834; l'Etytmologicum magnum et Théodoret, 1854. |
